FAQ's

Why choose me?

I combine reasonable rates with significant experience and high standards, and I am well-placed to access archives in London and the east of England.

I have a 1st class degree in History and I'm particularly adept at bringing your family's ancestry to life in my family history reports by placing it in its historical context.

I treat every investigation with care and enthusiasm, and I'm committed to an ongoing process of development that includes study to gain more qualifications and skills.

Do you undertake probate research or trace living/recent relatives?

No, not at this current time. However, there are plenty of researchers who are AGRA members or associates who may be able to help you in these areas.

What is a GEDCOM file?

GEDCOM is a file format that allows different family tree software programs to communicate. It is a way of storing genealogical data that means your family tree can easily be uploaded to commercial sites or passed to friends and family who can import it into their genealogy software-of-choice.

How can I be sure your work will be of a high standard?

As a Member of AGRA (Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives) I undertake to abide by their Code of Practice as well as dedicating myself to Continuing Professional Development.

Is any information discovered about my family safe with you?

Yes. I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) under the Data Protection Regulations (2018) as a Data Controller (Registration Reference: ZA209407) and I'm under obligation to maintain the safety of your information.
